EXETER — As part of their ongoing “Second Friday” music series, the Seacoast Artist Association in downtown Exeter welcomes back the popular duo Green Heron on April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. Old-time, folk, bluegrass, country, Celtic and blues music are all represented as the band brings the back porch to the stage. Featuring Betsy Heron on fiddle, banjo and vocals, and Scott Heron on guitar, banjo and vocals, the duo weaves the contemporary with the traditional and deliver passionate performances. Heron is also a visual artist and will have two watercolors in their "Pure Poetry" theme show where artists photograph or paint poems to celebrate National Poetry Month. Both of Heron’s pieces illustrate poems by Exeter poet/teacher Todd Hearon. “Lone Tree” shows Hearon’s “Mary Dyer” while “Desert Road” is inspired by his “Where the Well Don’t Run Dry.”
