The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire announces upcoming events

DOVER — The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire has been hard at work planning a new exhibit expansion project which will add 1,000 square feet and two exhibit spaces to its second floor by late 2025. Museum Members Get More: Children’s Museum of NH Members are invited to Member Only Monday play sessions. Join us on the first Monday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. for an exclusive play session just for CMNH Members. Spring Museum Hours: Closed most Mondays. Open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to noon.

School vacation week hours: The Museum will be open on Tuesdays, April 16 & 23 for both the morning (9 a.m. to noon) and the afternoon (1 to 4 p.m.) play sessions. Before visiting, the Museum is asking guests to reserve and pre-pay online to help stick to their capacity limit, which is currently at 50% of its actual capacity, or 250 individuals. It’s school vacation weeks at CMNH! The museum will be open for morning and afternoon (1 to 4 p.m.) play sessions on Tuesday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 23 in addition to regular hours (the museum’s Tuesday hours normally only include the morning play session). Visitors can enjoy a variety of fun art projects and challenges throughout the week in the museum including a special “Earth Day Celebration” on Saturday, April 20. Also, the museum’s outdoor Play Patio exhibit will be open for the season starting Tuesday, April 16th. Art projects and challenges are self-guided and included with museum admission and will be open to visitors any time throughout both the morning and afternoon play sessions. Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to noon or 1-4 p.m.

Join the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire for a day full of Earth loving fun. We will be offering Earth-friendly crafts and spring themed drop in activities and having an Earth Day themed scavenger hunt! Bartlett Tree Service will be handing out saplings during the morning play session while supplies last. Replenish Refillery of Dover will also be joining the morning play session, and Wentworth Greenhouses will be helping kids plant a flower to take home (while supplies last) in both the morning and afternoon play sessions. 3D Print It Summer Camp, Aug. 13-15, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Sign up today for this 3D printing summer camp at the Children’s Museum of NH in Dover, for ages 8-11-plus. Designed as an introductory course, campers will have an opportunity to learn how 3D objects are printed from the ground up using free and accessible software. Each camper will get to bring home a 3D printed object that they design themselves. Cost is $150 for Members and $165 for Non-members. Learn more and register at www.childrens-museum.org

Children’s Museum of New Hampshire Car or Cash Raffle tickets on sale through noon on Thursday, June 6

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s annual car raffle fundraiser is back and we’re excited to be partnering with Bill Dube Ford Toyota! Only 750 tickets are available for purchase and on sale for $100. The winner can choose between $25,000 towards a new vehicle of their choice from Bill Dube - OR $20,000 cash. Gallery 6 Art Exhibition: Things That Go, on view through June

This exhibition focuses on a favorite topic of young children…things that go! Boats, tractors, hot air balloons, trains, and more will be featured in this colorful and eclectic art exhibition inside the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover. New Hampshire artist Cameron Sargeant’s intricate pencil drawings of trains will be joined by the vibrant art of Massachusetts artist Sara Morton. Another Massachusetts artist, Susan Spellman will display beautiful paintings of tractors and the exhibit will be rounded out by Maine artist Francois Lamothe’s pastel and oil paintings of boats of the seacoast. Dinosaur Day with Sages Entertainment, Sunday, May 5, 9 a.m. to noon 

Stomp Stomp…ROAR: come meet a Dinosaur!! It's Dinosaur Day at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, and Sages Entertainment will be here sharing their Dinosaur Experience. Meet and greets with their lifelike baby dinosaur puppets will be from 9:30-10:30am followed by a dinosaur story time at 10:30am in the Muse Studio. Make a dinosaur craft, try a dino STEAM activity, and a themed scavenger hunt around the museum. Be sure to arrive before 11 a.m. to meet the dinosaurs. Junior Science: Garden Sprouts, Tuesdays, May 7-28 (4 weeks) from 1:30-2:15 p.m.

Join us for Junior Science at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire! We are excited to invite junior scientists (ages 3.5-5 years old) to our May session: Garden Sprouts. We will be exploring plants, pollinators, and gardening! This 45-minute class includes a story or felt board activity, followed by a fun experiment, and a related art project to take home. Classes will be held in our large classroom, and families with siblings may opt to play on the second floor during the class time from 1:30-2:15 p.m. - please note that the museum is closed to the public on Tuesday afternoons. Fairy House & Gnome Home Building Parent/Child Workshop, Sunday, May 19, 10-11 a.m.

Ring in springtime with the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s Fairy & Gnome Home workshop! Are you looking to have a whimsical experience with your child to celebrate spring? Look no further! This adult/child workshop will give you and your kids access to many natural materials and help in creating your very own fairy or gnome house to take home. Cost per adult/child pair is $20/Members, or $25/Non-members. Additional children are $10. All materials will be provided but cost of workshop does not include museum admission for non-members.
